HANDLING PALLETS OF CHEMCAST® GP AND VICAL SHEET

Sheets of CHEMCAST® GP acrylic plastic are shipped ion heavy duty pallets weighing approximately 2500 pounds. The number of sheets on each pallet depends on the size and thickness of the sheets.

All possible care should be used in handling the pallets to prevent damage to the CHEMCAST® GP. Fork lift trucks, where they are available, should be used to transport the pallets.

STORAGE OF CHEMCAST® GP AND VICAL SHEETS

Pallets of CHEMCAST® GP sheet should be stored on edge at a 10 degree angle from the vertical. Two by three inch wood strips placed on the floor about 42 inches apart will keep package edges off the floor and make the pallets easier to lift with fork lifts or hand trucks.

Formed sections of CHEMCAST® GP must be stored in relatively cool areas. If the parts are to be stacked, they must not be nested, but placed in simple frames or racks which fully support the parts so that they will not deform.

CHEMCAST® GP is a slow burning plastic material and should be treated as an ordinary combustible material like wood. Both materials will ignite and burn if placed in an open flame or in direct contact with any other source of ignition.

The "A" frame is constructed of plywood and slotted angle iron. The supporting floor of each partition is i/2 inch thick plywood. The floor panel may be covered with galvanized sheet metal for increased wear resistance. The racks are built in the "A" shape to equalize the weight and eliminate stresses on building walls.
